2021 Sammamish Pro Scooter Competition

Great event!  Thank you for every one that helped, competed or spectated.  Over 80 competitors and 360 spectators!  Wow!

    Pro Scooter Shop and the City of Sammamish are partnering to bring the community a pro scooter competition, held at the Sammamish skatepark.

    Music, prizes and lots of scooter experience!  Four divisions; beginner, intermediate, advanced and open.

    Date:  Wednesday, July 28th, 2021

    Location:  City of Sammamish Skatepark

    Time:  4pm to 8pm, registration starts at 4:00pm

    Entry Fee:  $10 (plus tax)

    Waiver is required for EVERY competitor.

    Note that the times and durations will be dependent upon the number of participants.  The event will start at 4pm sharp for beginners.

    • Beginner Competition:  4:30pm
    • Intermediate warm ups:  5pm
    • Intermediate runs:  5:15pm
    • Beginner awards:  5:45pm
    • Advanced warm ups:  6pm

    • Open warm ups:  7pm
    • Open runs:  7:20pm
    • Intermediate/Advanced/Open awards:  7:50pm
    • Event close:  8pm

    Four divisions - judges will be watching warm ups and reserve the right to move you up or down, based upon skills.  We want to be fair to everyone that is competing.

    • Beginner - intended to give new riders an intro to be in a competition.  If you can do more than a couple tricks, this is not the division for you.
    • Intermediate - for those that can do several tricks and might be able to string a line together.  Riders in this division are not able to use all the park features.
    • Advanced - multiple tricks strung together in a complete line.  Can typically use all the park features and land most tricks most of the time.
    • Open - the best riders at the event.  Complex tricks and complex, technical lines that use the entire park and all the features.

    FAQs

    1.  When does the competition start?

    Beginners competition will start at 4:30pm, followed by intermediate, advanced and open.

    2.  Where do I register?

    3.  How much does it costs?

    For each competitor, the cost is $10, paid at the time of registration.  Either online here (preferred) or at the event.

    4.  How do I know which division I, or my kid, should be in?

    • Beginner - intended to give new riders an intro to be in a competition.  If you can do more than a couple tricks, this is not the division for you.
    • Intermediate - for those that can do several tricks and might be able to string a line together.  Riders in this division are not able to use all the park features.
    • Advanced - multiple tricks strung together in a complete line.  Can typically use all the park features and land most tricks most of the time.

    7.  Are skateboards, BMX or fold up scooters allowed in the competition?

    No, on pro-style scooters.

    8.  Is a waiver required?

    Yes, for every competitor.

    9.  Are helmets required?

    Yes, for every competitor.  No helmets are available for rent.

    10.  Are knee, elbow pads and/or mouth guards required?

    No, just helmets.  But knee- and elbow-pads and mouth guards are recommended.

    11.  Will food and beverages be provided?

    Not directly, but the Farmer's Market, across from the skatepark, will be open.

    12.  What are the prizes for each division?

    Prize packages will be built once all items are received by sponsors.  Open division is cash only prizes.

    13.  Can I buy righteous stuff at the event?

    Yup!  Limited edition shirts.  Raffle tickets, too, for wicked items like skate ramp, complete scooter, wheels, grips, sig helmet.

    14.  What forms of payment are accepted?

    Cash AND credit cards.  No live animal swaps or crypto currency.

    15.  Is a waiver required?

    Yes.  Sign now and avoid the event rush.
